1) I have just been through the recent posts of the people I have met on this site.
And I am struck by some of the content of some of them. Hate. Revenge too. Vengeance. Exhortations to fight. Racism. Xenopobia. Sectarianism. You name it, it’s there. And that’s VERY revealing.
2) I have just been through the recent posts of the people I have met on this site.
But there are NO recent posts to be struck by by the others. I am, on the contrary, struck by the saddening absence of the gentle and cultured words of the kind people who were here before, with their messages of peace and creation and hope. They have quite simply stopped contributing articles. And that’s VERY revealing.
Those people don’t contribute articles any more because of the oppressing and violent omnipresence here of the second-hand hatred of people who, if they were directly involved in the battles of this world, wouldn’t have the luxury of posting the things they do.
I have just been through all my posts too. I’m happy with them.
So I, like the other absent contributors, am going on holiday for at least a while. Who needs intellectual and ideological pollution.

No heart, just ego and propaganda. Blitzed propaganda of the sort that is killing any kind of compassionate debate and understanding of the issues. Not only on IB, but all over the net.

Many people have entered these sensitive posts, not to have the possibility of learning and widening their vision, but more to have their biased (I say BIASED because they are claiming THEIR personal opinion as the ONLY truth, which it cannot be) opinions reinforced and praised. It doesn’t really reflect the post itself, but one’s EGO, all about shouting the loudest, insulting, demeaning and getting your voice, your opinion heard over the other person. There’s nothing to be achieved except hard feelings and resentment with such people.
This is egotistical, argumentative approach is what has soured many people here on IB.

It has do do with the fact that where I come from, the kind of thing posted here could not be printed. It’s illegal, and that’s how it should be in my opinion.
I know it’s not the same in some other parts of the world.
On the net it’s not illegal, of course, and it couldn’t be made illegal either, but here we are so revolted by race-hate that many people just don’t want to read it, me included.
I know some people think it’s all part of ”free speech”, but many people here just don’t think it is. It’s just racism, no more no less.

There’s a word for it. It’s called spam-hate. It’s going on all over the world right now, people sending the same bile to many outlets, and many European and American online papers etc have quite simply had to filter it (costly) or quite sinmply shut down commennting on certain articles.

It has and been a problem for forums and oneline. I have never heard the term spam-hate (I’m glad to have learned of a non- internet lingo way to say it) but I think it is the same as trolling. Whatever it is, it’s insane.

The Palestinian/Israeli situation is a very emotional one, and right or wrong, as long as it continues, there are going to be heated discussion from both sides of the fence.
For every 20 anti-Israeli articles that were being published, I felt the need to counter with one that presented the other side of the issue, because there is another side of the issue, even though not many seem to want to admit that.
And yes, it’s too bad that certain individuals feel the need to name call, and I have had my fair share, but that unfortunately is what happens.
It would be lovely, if there *were* peace on earth, and we could write those articles about creation and hope. But, alas, there are too many who do NOT want peace, and so conflicts will continue across the world, there will be wars and wars of words.
In the meantime, I will continue to try and shed ”light” on certain subjects that people are unwilling to acknowledge, for whatever noble, albeit misguided, reasons.
That being said, with regards to the Palestinian/Israeli conflict, anyone who thinks that Hamas wants peace has got their heads firmly stuck in the sand. I just read through Hamas’ CHarter, the whole thing, and it reveals WHY there will never be peace in that region and why they continue to fight. I just wrote a post about it with the most damning sections. If writing a post about that is considered 2nd-hand hate, then so be it. People need to know the Truth.

The post was quite simply titled hate because it was addressed to those who hate. Those people have hate in them. And they are the enemies of those who would like to go deeper.

The post was quite simply titled hate because it was addressed to those who hate. Those people have hate in them. And they are the enemies of those who would like to go deeper.

I can’t hate anyone, not even the person I talked about in my previous post. But I do sometimes feel intense anger, including (although visibly not for the same reasons) for the curent world situation.
Also, one’s heart cannot be full of hate AND anger at the same time.
It can be half full of both though, and the difference is not just semantic if you think about it.....
Finally, concerning hate for those who perpetrate injustice, I think that what ”injustice” (and, of course ”justice”) is depends on who you are, the culture you were born into etcetera....it’s a value judgement.

Agreed! Posts with peace messages are beng posted less in number. But have you tried to reason out that why is this happening?? The fact remains that people have nothing good to observe which they can portray in their articles. They always have to witness acts of injustice, anger, hatred and inhumanity, which gets reflected in their thoughts. But yes, some people do go overboard in their comments. I would certainly wait for that day, when only good and positive news would be heard on instablogs!

I believe you MC! People want to hear/read more about love, peace than all the hate running around.
I never noticed this till someone wrote that they would appreciate more if i wrote more about love & peace and little of all the blood/killings taking place in my community.
And I promised to do just more of that. Maybe if we all start finding a little love in whatever situation, then maybe we could begin modelling this world in the right direction. A little step at a time.
